A Christmas Card of Daisy Holzworth

A Christmas Card of Daisy Holzworth – 1909

In the early 20th century, Daisy Holzworth lived at 435 West Orange Street in Lancaster, PA.

She had many friends and correspondents, and she seems to have saved her favorite postcards.

I have found papers related to her at more than one dealer in antique paper, which suggests that her papers were sold in “lots”, or that the paper has passed through several commercial hands.

This Christmas postcard was posted by Carrie in Philadelphia on December 24,1909.

Although the origin of the postcard is not identified, I believe that it was printed in Europe.

The face bears a heart-shaped medallion of a rural church. Sprigs of clover and blue forget-me-nots surround the image.
