Coming Your Way – 1906

On October 11, 1906, H. H. Ziemen of Adamstown received a postcard from Cora, who might be a sibling.

The postcard is badly worn and marred by foxing, but bears a drawing of a vagabond walking the railroad tracks and the legend, “Coming Your Way”.

The postcard had traveled a great deal on October 11.

It appears to have been mailed in Reading, but bears receiving postmarks in the towns of Goodville and Denver before reaching Adamstown.

Printed in the United States, the postcard lacks a photographic image. The quality of the paper and of the printing is inferior to most postcards of this decade – which were printed in Germany.

On the face, Cora writes from Reading that, “Mother and Father are coming up on Saturday”.

One hopes that the parents were welcomed warmly after the postcard announcement of their visit.
