Miss Hazel Kelly lived in Grand Rapids, the prosperous center of furniture manufacturing on the Grand River in west central Michigan.
In April of 1916, Hazel received an Easter postcard from Aunt Alice.
Aunt Alice lived in Coopersville, a small city in southwest Michigan -not far from Lake Michigan.
The face of the postcard is illustrated by a drawing of two baby chickens beside a row of daffodils.
Printed in the United States by a publisher whose tag line is, “The Art of Ink Perfection”.
The legend proclaims, “Easter Greetings”.
On the reverse, Aunt Alice inscribed a brief message, “Happy Easter to all from Aunt Alice”.
Hazel must have been pleased by the seasonal remembrance from her aunt as the postcard has been preserved in good condition for more than 100 years.
