Jennie Sends a Postcard from Bethune – Bethune, South Carolina (1925)

Jennie was traveling in the southern US, but she did not forget Norman Carpenter who lived in Rothsville, PA.

While in Bethune, SC, Jennie mailed a postcard to Norman.

Bethune is a small town in the north central part of the state, not far from the border with North Carolina.

The face of the postcard bears an illustration of a winding path beside a rural river.

The Lynches River passes by Bethune and this may be a photograph of that stream.

It could also be a generic image of a watery retreat to which a local printer attaches a name.

Jennie announces that she is heading to Georgia, and promises to write again.

We trust that Jennie enjoyed her travels and had many stories to tell when she saw Norman again.
