Lil Explores the Mountains of Colorado – 1925

Lil was in Denver for a few days, but she was planning rail excursions into the mountains.

Lil writes to her friend, Mrs. Henry Garrett, about her trip.

Mrs. Garret lived in Drexel Hill, an historic neighborhood, about 8 miles from center-city Philadelphia.

A reference to “20 years ago” suggests a long friendship, perhaps earlier trips to the mountains.

The postcard, mailed from Denver in May of 1925, bears an illustration of the “Cripple Creek Short Line” RR making a night run in the moonlight.

The postcard was published by the Hyde Paper Company of Colorado Springs.

One hopes that Lil enjoyed her excursions in the Spring of 1925.
