Mrs. B. F. Fry lived in Green Springs, a village in north-central Ohio.
Green Springs takes its name from a large mineral spring in the area.

On Valentine’s Day of 1910, Mrs. Fry received a postcard from her daughter, Mattie.
Mattie mailed the postcard from Akron, then a manufacturing center in northeast Ohio.
Akron is about a hundred miles east of Green Springs.

The face of the postcard is a deeply-embossed banner surrounded by pink flowers.
Upon the banner, in blue letter, are printed the words – “Love To Dear Mother”.
Mattie signed her name on the face in the lower right – if the postcard is held in a vertical position.
I suspect that the postcard was designed to be viewed in the horizontal position, and I have included that image as the primary view.
O the reverse, Mattie has written a few words on the margin – perhaps due to the deep creases of the embossed drawing.
I interpret the message to mean that Mattie is arriving home on Monday; she will take the 10:19 train or trolley, and be seated in the C car.
Mrs. Fry preserved the tribute throughout her life.
One hopes that Mattie made the visit as planned and that she remained an affectionate daughter to Mrs. Fry for many years.
