Mrs. Cora McGuigan of York – circa 1910

This beautiful picture of mother and child was created at the photography studio of Simon & Murnane in York.

The Studio was located at 227 West Market Street, “at the bridge”.

This is the not the only postcard photograph that I have found from this studio.

It is a pleasure to find an inscription identifying the woman.

Information about Mrs. McGuigan is readily available on-line.

Cora Matilda Bashore McGuigan was born in York County during October of 1882.

She had three sisters and two brothers.

Her marriage to Harry Washington McGuigan of Red Lion produced three children.

I believe that this picture is of their only daughter, Katherine.

Unfortunately, Katherine died in 1914.

The photograph must have been treasured.
