In other postcard stories, we have been introduced to the community of Hanover, PA.
Hanover is a charming borough of York County in south-central Pennsylvania – east of Gettysburg and only ten miles above the Mason-Dixon line.

Sometime around 1915, two children posed for a portrait at the Hoffman Studio which operated at an unknown location in Hanover.
An older girl in a layered shift sits on a bench while a younger boy (in an outfit of short pants) stands beside her.
The girl’s dress anticipates popular dress styles of the 1920’s.
I assume that the two are siblings, although there is no identifying inscription.
The girl smiles uneasily, while the boy maintains a stoic expression.
One hopes that the children experienced happiness and success in the twentieth century.
