The Girls on the Wall – York County, PA  (circa 1912)

This postcard photograph was printed by the Penn Park Studio which operated at two locations in York County of south-central Pennsylvania.

The first studio location was on College Avenue in the city of York and the second, on York Street in the borough of Hanover – 19 miles southwest of York.

Here, two young women are posing on a stone structure – perhaps related to a bridge or a pier.

Unfortunately, the photograph is somewhat “washed out” – despite my efforts to improve the contrast.

We can see, however, that each woman is wearing a dress, one in a pale solid color and one of a vibrant striped material.

One hopes that our heroines were pleased by the postcards and shared their images with many friends.
