The Welcome Stream

John Henry Sends “Welcome Stream” – December 27, 1912

In 1912, Miss Anna Weidman lived on Spruce Street in Lititz.

On December 27, Anna received a postcard from John Henry.

The postcard, a photograph of horses drinking at a stream, was mailed from Lancaster.

The photograph has a legend, “Welcome Stream” and a short verse about the refreshing stream superimposed at the bottom.

On the reverse, John thanks Miss Weidman for her card and wishes her a “Happy New Year”.

Exactly 107 years after it was mailed, I posted the card electronically.
