Miss Mildred Dahlquist lived in Brockton, a city in Plymouth County of east-central Massachusetts.
Now a commercial hub of the southern Boston Metro Region, Brockton was once the largest center of shoe manufacturing in the US.

An earlier postcard story provided a scene of Campello – one of the two villages within Brockton.
In February of 1911, Mildred received a postcard from a nearby friend or neighbor.
The postmark address is “City”.

The face of the postcard is a humorous photograph of a young couple hanging from the branch of a tree.
It is possible that this is a composite image
The young woman is wearing a white shirtwaist and a long dark skirt.
On her upraised arm, there appears to be a bracelet or watch – wrist watches for women became affordable and commonly worn at the turn of the 20th century.
Below the skirt, we have a glimpse of dark stockings and sturdy shoes
The beau is wearing a white shirt with a high collar; he appears to be sporting cuff links.
A long tie and ornamental belt complete his outfit.
Beneath the scene, large letters proclaim “A Pair of Suspenders”.
I found the picture very winsome, as the couple seem to be enjoying themselves greatly.
Their broad grins defy the conventions of early 20th century photography.
The faint imprint of “Theochrom Series” establishes that the postcard was printed by Theodor Eismann, a German printer who established operations in the United States about 1910.

On the reverse, there is only a short inscription: “Giora ven Mildred”.
I interpret this to mean that the postcard was sent to Mildred by Giora.
A quick internet search reveals that “Giora” is an historic masculine name of Aramaic and Hebrew roots – meaning “God is my light” or “divine light”.

Mildred seems to have been pleased by the postcard, as it was preserved in very good condition throughout her life.
RESEARCH NOTE
On May 4, 1894, Mildred Henrietta Dahlquist was born in Easton, MA.
She was the daughter of Charles A. Dahlquist (1866- deceased) and Hanna P. Anderson (1869-deceased).
Mildred had one younger brother, Osborne Dahlquist, born in 1893.
In February of 1914, Mildred married Peter Hilding Carlson (1887-deceased)
The couple had one son, Carl Richmond Peter Carlson, born in 1915.
Mildred is found in US Census Records in Plymouth County from 1910 through 1930.
She cannot be found in the 1940 Census.
All immediate family members, Mildred, Peter, and son, Carl, are not found in Find a Grave indices for Massachusetts.
There are numerous Dahlquist and Carlson families in Minnesota and other places of significant Swedish immigrant populations.
I hope to explore this mystery further.
