Mrs. Elisha Rambo lived in Cochranville, a lovely town in Chester County of southeast Pennsylvania.

(We have seen other postcard stories related to folks in Cochranville.)
Sometime around New Year’s Day of 1912, Mrs. Rambo received a New Year postcard from Blanche D. Craven.
Blanche mailed the postcard from Philadelphia – at 10 PM on December 31, 1911.
On the face of the postcard is a bright drawing of two horseshoes connected by a swirl of red ribbon.
Within the curves of the horseshoes are two wintry illustrations – of a rural home, and of a rural church.
Between the horseshoes is a medallion drawing of fir branches dusted with snow.
Beneath the drawings, in ornate letters, is a printed message – “New Year Greetings”.
The postcard, lightly embossed, was printed in the United States.
On the reverse, Blanche writes, “Wishing you a Happy New Year” and adds the new year, “1912”.
We do not know how Blanche Craven might be related to Mrs. Rambo, but we hope that they enjoyed a happy and prosperous 1912.
