Miss Anna Miller was in New Haven, the port city and University town in south-central Connecticut.
Located on a harbor on Long Island Sound, New Haven was a planned city established by New England Puritans in 1638.

In October of 1907, Miss Miller received a postcard from her Aunt Lena.
Aunt Lena mailed the postcard from Brooklyn, the most-populous borough of New York City and a center of industry and shipping.

The face of the postcard is a romantic scene of a young couple on a boat.
The woman is elegantly-attired in a long white dress and sporting a fur stole.
Upon her head is a stylish bonnet.
Staring eagerly at then young beauty is a young man wearing a brown suit.
The features of the young man’s face are remarkably vivid.
His shirt has a stiff collar – the predominant fashion (however uncomfortable) of the time.
The young lady seems very much in control of the situation, however.
The postcard was printed in Europe, but I cannot distinguish a publisher’s mark.

On the reverse, Aunt Lena inscribes a brief message, “Love to you”.
It may be that Anna was celebrating a birthday or some other special occasion.
Miss Miller seems to have been pleased by the charming drawing; she preserved the postcard in very good condition throughout her life.
