Charlotte Flirts by Mail

In September of 1915, Charlotte sent a postcard from Elizabethtown to Mr. John Buchmoyer of Manheim.

The hand-colored photograph shows a well-dressed suitor bending over a young woman who is reclining awkwardly on a rustic bench..

The legend proclaims, “You Would Just Suit Me”.

On the reverse, we learn that Charlotte has been receiving postcards from John, which she has enjoyed.

She would like to arrange a meeting.

Charlotte announces her intention to write a letter, and (my curiosity aroused) I wish we could read it.

One hopes that the budding relationship through correspondence may have led to a happy friendship.
