Clarence and Alice

Although snow fell during the night on parts of the east coast, I don’t believe there was sufficient accumulation to permit sleighing.

It would be grand to see the streets filled with horse-drawn sleighs.

Sometime in the early 20th century, Alice and Clarence prepared to travel by sleigh.

They appear in front of a house; I cannot tell if they are on a road.

The horses are magnificent, and the sleigh looks light enough to be carried easily and swiftly.

There is no indication of location, so the event could have taken place in one of many regions.

A thoughtful person did inscribe, “Clarence and Alice” on the reverse of the postcard photograph.

Jingle Bells, indeed!
