Miss Amy Keen lived in West Chester, the beautiful college town of Chester County in southeast Pennsylvania.

In May of 1906, Amy received a postcard greeting from Alice Groff.

Alice lived in Downingtown, a town (also in Chester County) about 35 miles west of Philadelphia.

Riders traveling on the Main Line from Philadelphia will be familiar with the charming town.

The face of Amy’s postcard is a lovely drawing of flowers in a vase.

The still life is remarkable for the nice treatment of light falling on the stems.

The work was published by the German American Novelty Art Company; the postcard was printed in Germany.

One hopes that Amy was pleased by the postcard art and that she and Alice remained friends and correspondents for many years.
