Ollie & Eva Visit Atlantic City – circa 1910

Photographic portraits from Atlantic City are not rare; millions of visitors flocked to the shore each summer.

Hundreds of thousands had photographs made at Boardwalk photography concessions.

This photograph was made at Geissinger Studio on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Many of these photographs survive, the subjects unnamed, in antique malls.

This postcard photograph was printed on a postcard which was never mailed.

It was, however, shared with friends.

Ollie appears to have had a brother, Tom.

The postcard photograph may have been collected with memorabilia of his life.

At least, that is the implication of the inscribed question on the reverse: “Tom’s brother?”

The writer seems to proceed with this assumption by noting, “Ollie + wife, Eva”.

I hope that this couple is Ollie and Eva.

I like them for her sly smile and his dapper appearance.

They are an attractive couple.

One hopes that they, and brother, Tom, enjoyed their youth in the early 20th century.
