Sending my heart to Oregon, PA
The small town of Oregon once boasted a mill, a school a church, and (from 1846-1912) a post office.
Sometime around 1908, Miss Lillie Bard received an embossed postcard with a message of devotion.
Interestingly, the postcard was hand-canceled by placing an “X” over the postage stamp; there is no date stamp.
Made in Germany, the postcard lacks any other identifying information.
Nevertheless, it was treasured by Lillie and survived more than a century.
