Sometime around 1910, Cordelle Cameron was visiting Sunset Rock, a promontory on which a stone cabin is erected.

Despite the altitude and the precarious location, the place was admired by Cordelle.

She writes, “no picture can describe its many beauties.”

Today, the trail to Sunset Rock on Lookout Mountain is a favorite hiking destination.

The postcard may have been published locally, but there is no identification of the printer or publisher.

Cordelle presented the postcard to Mrs. Grace E. V. Prue.

It is not clear if the postcard was hand-delivered after Cordelle’s visit to Chattanooga or if the postcard might have been enclosed with a letter.

The postcard was not mailed.

Grace lived in Copenhagen, a village in northwestern New York. The village was named for the city in Denmark .

It seems that Grace was delighted by the postcard, as it was preserved in good condition for more than a century.
