In December of 1912, the Cornells received a Christmas postcard from Aunt Louey.

Aunt Louey mailed the postcard from Franklinville, a town in southwest New York.

The face of the postcard is a drawing of brilliant poinsettias in a blue vase or bottle.

On the face of the vase is a blessing:

“May your Fireside be Blessed

With Good Cheer and all things Best”

Above the flowers, an ornate motto proclaims “A Merry Xmas”.

On the reverse, Aunt Louey sends “best wishes for a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.”

The aunt expresses a desire to stop in and see her relatives; she adds, “I suppose you have been busy all of the Fall picking grapes”.

The postcard was sent “with Love.”

One hopes that Mr. and Mrs. Cornell, and their Aunt in Franklinville, enjoyed a wonderful Christmas.
