The Christmas Cards of Daisy Holzworth

The Christmas Cards of Daisy Holzworth – 1908

In the early 20th century, Daisy Holzworth lived at 435 West Orange Street in Lancaster, PA.

She had many friends and correspondents, and she seems to have saved her favorite postcards.

I have found papers related to her at more than one dealer in antique paper, which suggests that her papers were sold in “lots”, or that the paper has passed through several commercial hands.

This Christmas postcard was posted in Lancaster in 1908.

The International Art Company of Berlin and New York published the postcard.

Printed in Berlin, the postcard bears an illustration of a rural church surrounded by a garland of ivy on which two birds are perched.

Unfortunately, there is no indication of the friend who remembered Daisy at Christmas.
