The Cornwall Cousins

The Cornwall Cousins – circa 1910

Wes Cornwall and William B. Cornwall were cousins.

Sometime around 1910, they shared a visit, and celebrated their time together by having a photographic portrait made.

The photograph appears to have been presented to the parents of one of the young men; an inscription on the face begins, “Hello Folks”.

The note includes the information that the picture was taken, “yesterday afternoon”, but there is no date or location indicated.

The men are wearing suits and ties, but there are several differences in their dress.

One favors a bow tie, the other a a long tie.

One sports a neatly-folded “pocket square”.

One jacket is open, the other jacket appears to be a buttoned double-breasted suit.

One hopes the young cousins remained friends and that they prospered in the twentieth century.
