The Happy Children – circa 1920

It is very unfortunate that the two winsome children, whom I assume are a brother and sister, are not named.

The picture appears to have been taken in one of the cooler months as the youngsters are wearing leggings under their short pants.

Their sturdy shoes are carefully tied, so they are unlikely to trip if playing boisterously.

On a wooden porch, before a house with unpainted siding, the children stand at the door as though they are about to welcome visitors.

The reverse lacks any indication of a location or of a studio.

One hopes that the two remained friends and that they were happy in their youth.
