During World War ll, the airfield was developed significantly when it became an Air Force training center.

The airport was returned to full civilian control in 1946.

The appearance of the airport has changed considerably since the time that this postcard was published.

Today, the Reading Airport site contains an aviation museum and an aircraft restoration center.

This postcard illustration was not mailed.

The “linen” style became popular in the 1930’s, so the postcard may have been printed to celebrate the completion of the airfield.

The postcard could have been printed, however, as late as 1950.
