On January 4, 1912, Ed sent a postcard from Elizabethtown to Miss Annie Moyer at 633 West Chestnut Street in Lancaster.
The postcard bears an uncolored photograph of the High School in Elizabethtown.

The photograph was published by I. A. Shiffer.
Ed and Miss Annie seem to have enjoyed regular correspondence; Ed mentions her last letter and expresses his regret at not having the bracelet repaired before he sees her again.
Ed also notes he is reading “The Harvester”, a romantic novel by the female author, Gene Stratton-Porter.
In the novel, the upright grower of medicinal plants lives an idyllic existence in the woodlands with his dog.
While building a successful business, he begins to dream of a mysterious woman whom he is fated to love.
I do not know if the subject of the novel had any relevance to the relationship between Ed and Miss Annie.
One hopes that the two remained friends and correspondents for any years.
