Estella Dunlap had many friends and admirers, judging by the large collection of postcards she saved during her life.
Estella is sometimes addresses as “Stella”.
Stella lived in Coatesville, then an important steel-making city on the Brandywine Creek in southeast Pennsylvania.

Sometime around 1910, Estella received an unusual postcard from Mr. Buck.
The postcard was not mailed, so we might assume that Mr. Buck lived nearby or saw Estella with some frequency.
The face of the postcard has an ornamental border created from a layered substance, like enameling.
The border encloses a picture of a rustic bridge, a wooden construction placed somewhat precariously above a rocky stream.
In my opinion, the border overwhelms the picture and detracts from the appearance of the postcard.
Nevertheless, the postcard represents an unusual variation in postcard manufacturing and printing.
The message on the face, “Greetings and All Good Wishes” may relate to the birthday of Estella.
The unusual postcard was “Printed in Bavaria”.
One hopes that Estella and Mr. Buck enjoyed their friendship in the first decade of the 20th century.
NOTE:
In 1905, in Conshohocken, PA , a son was born to an Estella and Alexander Dunlap.
I do not know if this is “our” Estella, but the son, Foster Dunlap, was a lawyer and politician in Philadelphia in the 1950’s and 1960’s.
