A Valentine for Miss Humphreville – 1910

Miss Witwer’s School – Lancaster, PA

Miss Humphreville, who lived on West Vine Street, taught singing at Miss Witwer’s School.

(We met Miss Margie Humphreville of West Vine Street last September when she was invited, by postcard, to participate in a “handkerchief surprise” for Ethel.)

In February of 1910, Miss Humphreville, here named the “Singing Teacher”, was given a Valentine by a student, Mary Cohn.

The postcard is a very fine, well-colored postcard of a rustic scene surrounded by forget-me-nots and red hearts.

At the bottom left is the nicely-printed legend, “To My Valentine”.

Mary identifies herself as, “a pupil you teach every other Friday at Miss Witwer’s School”.

I am dismayed at not being able to find any information about   Miss Witwer’s School on South Mulberry Street in Lancaster.
