“All the Year, You’re in My Heart” – Columbia, PA (1921)

Mrs. Philip Bard lived on a rural delivery route near Columbia, the lovely town above the Susquehanna River in central Pennsylvania.

In February of 1921 (?), Mrs. Bard received a Valentine postcard from Stella.

The postcard was mailed from Columbia, so we may assume that Stella lived near Mrs. Bard.

Printed and published by the Whitney Company of Worcester, Massachusetts, the postcard is decorated with stylistic flowers in a sprawling, arabesque, design.

One notices the evolution of style from the decorative schemes that characterized the previous decade.

Beneath the legend, “To My Valentine”, is a verse expressing the constant affection of a friend.

We hope that Mrs. Bard and Stella enjoyed their friendship for many years.
