“Christmas Greetings” to York County – Felton, PA (1908)

Miss Ruth Hake lived in Felton, Pa, a borough in York County, not far from Red Lion.

In December of 1908, Ruth received a Christmas postcard from Carrie H., perhaps a relative.

Carrie sends “all best wishes for a very pleasant and cheerful Christmas holiday season”.

In the new year, Carrie plans to “come down…and go to meeting with you girls”.

(Could the Hake family be Quakers?)

The face of the postcard displays a drawing of a horse pulling a sleigh on a snowy road, through a wintry landscape.

A large four-leaf clover hangs over the scene.

A border of falling snow encloses the illustration.
