Easter Greetings to Clifton Thomson of York

Mr. and Mrs. H.H. Lindemuth were in Los Angeles.

On March 30, 1920, they mailed an Easter postcard to Clifton Thomson.

Clifton lived on West Maple Street in York.

The face of the postcard bears an illustration of sheep in a peaceful meadow; a mountain looms in the background.

On the left, an Easter blessing is inscribed: “Radiant with promise be this Easter Morn, may peace and happiness your heart adorn.

Above the blessing is a drawing of a cross adorned with lilies.

The postcard was printed in the United States and lacks the vivid coloration of postcards printed in Germany and England before the Great War.

Nevertheless, someone preserved the Easter greeting for more than a century.
