Late Autumn

Late Autumn – circa 1905

This postcard is a companion illustration to the postcard featuring an Autumn scene of golden fields and colorful trees.

Both postcards were printed by the German-American Novelty Company, a publisher of well-crafted, original art for postcards.

On some art postcards of this company, an artist’s initials can be found.

In this autumn scene, the setting is darker, wilder, and the approach of winter seems much more imminent.

I love Autumn, and enjoy the dramatic changes in the landscape that one can observe during this season.

The postcard, neither addressed nor mailed, was printed circa 1905 (it has an undivided back).

It is an outstanding example of postcard art of the period.
