Magnificent Railroad Infrastructure – Richmond, VA (1925)

In December of 1925, William Dutton received a postcard greeting at his home in Harrisburg, PA.

The postcard was mailed from Norfolk, Virginia by Chas.

The face of the postcard is bears a drawing of a remarkable railroad construction near Richmond, Virginia.

Many years before the development the multi-level overpass for automobile traffic in congested areas, the multi-level overpass was built for railroads.

The blurb on the reverse of the postcard touts the city of Richmond as “the modern Rome”, due to its beauty and industrial growth.

There is no inscribed message, but a cheerful Red Cross stamp marks the upcoming Christmas holiday.

One hopes that Chas and William enjoyed the winter holidays of 1925.
