News from Peoria Reaches Lititz – 1906

In May of 1906, Mr.Jacob Bomberger of Lititz received a postcard from a friend who was in Peoria “on business”.

The friend, whose ornate initials I cannot decipher, was traveling with Mr. Walker and Mr. B.

Mailed from Peoria, the postcard contains three small photographs of sights in that city – the courthouse and soldier’s monument (most likely a commemoration of the Civil War), the Palm House (which appears to be a botanical garden), and Glen Oak Park.

The business travelers visited the park. (The botanical garden, I learned, is located within Glen Oak Park.)
