To Welcome Baby Henry – Dundee, Illinois (1918)

Mr. And Mrs. Henry Goers were thrilled with their new baby, and they sent postcard announcements to their friends.

The Goers family lived in Dundee, a town in northeast Illinois, beyond the city limits of Chicago.

The 9 lb. baby was born in August of 1918 and named Henry Leonard Goers, Jr.

Mrs. Jim Hall lived in Chicago, and she received the welcome news at her home.

The postcard announcement is from the “Stork Series” of an unidentified publisher.

The war-time postage rate of 2 cents is reflected in the red stamp.

One hopes that baby Henry enjoyed a happy youth in suburban Illinois.
