William Sends a Christmas Postcard to “Grandpaw” – 1914

Mr. William Gardner lived in Bridgeton, near Woodbine, in south- central York County.

On December 15, 1914, he received a Christmas postcard from his grandson, also named William Gardner.

The grandson mailed the postcard from Holtwood, PA on the east side of the Susquehanna.

Young William asks, “when are you coming…”.

We cannot be sure if young William’s question relates to the a Christmas visit or a Christmas dinner.

We hope that the Gardner family of three generations enjoyed the Christmas celebration of 1914.
