On December 13, 1913, Ruth received a Christmas postcard from her friend, Mabel.

Mabel mailed her greeting from Mount Joy, so she may have been a neighbor or classmate of Ruth.

On the face of the postcard is a framed medallion drawing of a cluster of buildings amid snowy fields.

Surrounding the drawing is an artful arrangement of white blossoms, and sprigs of holly.

At the bottom of the drawing is the printed legend, “A Happy Christmas be yours”.

The postcard was published by the International Art Publishing Company of New York and Berlin.

The postcard was printed in Germany.

On the reverse, Mabel extends her wish for “A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year”.

Miss Brubaker preserved the postcard in very good condition throughout her life.

One hopes that she and Mabel enjoyed a splendid Christmas and a prosperous 1914.
