Art & Katie

The Adventures of Art and Katie (circa 1910)

Sometime in the early twentieth century, young Art and Katie were photographed outdoors.

I assume the two are siblings; they seem to have clasped hands for the photo.

Only the first names of the young explorers are inscribed on the reverse; we cannot know where these children were living.

They do not appear to be afraid, and one suspects that they might be capable of considerable mischief within a few years.

I grew up with siblings close in age, and there are advantages to having accomplices, co-conspirators, and fellow adventurers as one explores the world.

One hopes that Katie and Art had a happy childhood in the new century.
