We met Daisy Pickle (also, “Pickel”) in earlier postcard stories:
“Aunt Lizzie Sends an Easter Rabbit”, “A Turkey from Her Teacher” (1910), “Do No Murder”, and, “The Lamb Cart” (1909).
These postcards (and others I have scanned) include addresses of Safe Harbor, Highville, and Millersville.
All of these communities are in the western area of Lancaster County in southeast Pennsylvania.

Sometime before Easter in a year near 1910, Daisy was given another postcard from her Aunt Lizzie Eshelman.
At this time, Daisy is living in Highville – now a “populated place” in Manor Township of southwest Lancaster County.
Highville, about 3 miles northwest of Safe Harbor, lies along the east bank of the Susquehanna River.

There was a Post Office in Highville from 1850-1909.
Because the postcard was not mailed, we cannot be sure of the location of Aunt Lizzie.
If the greeting was hand-delivered, we could assume that Aunt Lizzie lived nearby.

The face of the postcard is a delightful drawing of a rooster, hen, and two chicks standing on a plot of green grass and Spring flowers.
The fowl are posed against a bright blue background.
Although no artist is credited, the scene is rendered with charming craftsmanship.
Above the scene, “Easter Greetings” is inscribed in white letters.
There is no publisher’s name, but the postcard was printed in the United States.

On the reverse, Aunt Lizzie writes only the address of Daisy and her own name.
The brevity of the inscription might indicate that Daisy had regular communication with her aunt.
Daisy seems to have been a careful collector of postcards – each one that I have seen is in very good condition.
One hopes that Daisy, Aunt Lizzie, and all their family enjoyed a wonderful Easter.
