In March of 1907, John Smeltzer was staying at the Hotel Calvert in Snow Hill, Maryland.
(Snow Hill, a community of about 1800 persons in 1907, lies at the very center of Worcester County on the Delmarva Peninsula. Snow Hill is the County Seat.)
There, Mr. Smeltzer received a postcard from Abram Morton of Mount Joy.
The postcard, mailed from Mount Joy, features an uncolored photograph of “West Main Street (looking West)”.
The postcard was published by E. W. Garber, who may have been the photographer.
The street in Mount Joy is unpaved, but bordered by beautiful large trees.
