The Baby in Chicago – Marion, Iowa (1909)

Mrs. G. I. Robinson lived in Marion, a city in east central Iowa.

In February of 1909, Mrs. Robinson received a postcard from “Guess Who” in Chicago.

The postcard bears a portrait of a mother and baby.

The mother is wearing a high-collared shirtwaist; her hair is worn up, but frames her face attractively.

The baby looks inquisitively toward the camera.

We suppose that Mrs. Robinson knew the identity of the new mother in Chicago, but there are no clues to help us identify mother and baby.

One hopes the child experienced happiness while growing up in the early twentieth century.
